If the downturn for the travel sector wasn’t enough. EasyJet have now had a data breach.
The budget airline said 2,200 customers also had their credit card details accessed in the data breach
The ICO said last year that it intended to fine British Airways a record £183 million ($230m) after a data breach exposed the booking details of 500,000 customers.
Nine million travel records, which would potentially contain customer data, plus 2,200 credit card details compromised. The data fine for this could be the nail in the coffin.
Given they were the first airline to ask for a bailout in the UK, this isn’t good news.
